Once upon a time... I lived at home, with my parents, no siblings and no pets. Then my grandparents died and I was left a duplex. A house AND a source of income. A year and a half later, my uncle died and guess what? ANOTHER duplex with my name on it. I moved out into my own home at 24, just a few months shy of 25. Although I'd grown up around the rental business, I'd only lived in one house my entire life. Now, somewhat suddenly, I was responsible for my own home, plus the well-being of three tenants. Welcome to the rental business, as told by a single, female, owner-manager. You'll never look at the words "for rent" the same way again.
